Ribonucleotide reductase subunit R2 (RRM2) is the small subunit of ribonucleotide reductase (RR), a crucial enzyme complex responsible for catalyzing the reduction of ribonucleotides to deoxyribonucleotides. This reaction provides the essential precursors for DNA synthesis and repair. RRM2 contains a dinuclear iron center and a tyrosyl radical essential for its function.
