Ribosomal protein L10 pseudogene 13 (RPL10P13)

Target

Overview

RPL10P13, or ribosomal protein L10 pseudogene 13, is a processed pseudogene in the human genome related to the gene encoding 60S ribosomal protein L10. Unlike the functional RPL10 gene—which encodes a component of the large (60S) ribosomal subunit involved in protein synthesis[3][1]—RPL10P13 does not encode a protein and is not involved in ribosome function or known biological processes. Pseudogenes like RPL10P13 may arise via retrotransposition or gene duplication but typically lack regulatory elements necessary for expression, and are not considered functional or therapeutic targets[6].

Biological functions

Other (No known biological function; does not encode a functional protein)

Disease associations

Other (No established disease association; pseudogenes sometimes act as regulatory non-coding RNA, but there is no evidence for RPL10P13 specifically)
