Overview

Ribosomal protein L10 pseudogene 6 (RPL10P6) is classified as a pseudogene within the human genome. Pseudogenes are DNA sequences that are similar to known genes but are not translated into functional proteins due to mutations, truncations, or lack of regulatory elements. RPL10P6 is related to the ribosomal protein L10 family, but unlike functional ribosomal protein genes (such as RPL10), it does not encode a protein involved in ribosome structure or function. There is no evidence that RPL10P6 plays a role in protein synthesis, serves as a therapeutic target, or contributes to human disease or drug response[7][8]. Other ribosomal protein pseudogenes, such as RPLP0P6, share similar functional null status[5]. The designation of RPL10P6 as a therapeutic target or biological molecule would be incorrect, as this pseudogene does not produce a protein or fulfill functional roles in cell biology.
