Ribosomal protein L12 pseudogene 29 (RPL12P29) is a processed pseudogene that shares sequence homology with the protein-coding gene RPL12, which encodes the ribosomal protein L12—a component of the large 60S subunit of the cytoplasmic ribosome. Unlike the functional RPL12 gene, pseudogenes such as RPL12P29 do not encode functional ribosomal proteins and are generally considered non-coding genomic elements that arise from gene duplication or retrotransposition events. There is no evidence that RPL12P29 produces a protein or has any biological, disease, or therapeutic relevance.
