Ribosomal protein L12 pseudogene 30 (RPL12P30) is a processed pseudogene found in the human genome, derived from the ribosomal protein L12 (RPL12) gene. Pseudogenes like RPL12P30 are typically nonfunctional remnants of genes, formed via retrotransposition or DNA duplication events, and generally do not encode functional proteins[6][9]. There is no evidence supporting any biological activity, disease association, or value as a therapeutic target for this pseudogene. While its parent gene (RPL12) encodes a structural component of the large ribosomal subunit (60S) involved in protein synthesis, pseudogenes such as RPL12P30 are not known to participate in cellular processes or act as drug targets[2][3][9].
