Overview

Ribosomal protein L13a pseudogene 27 (RPL13AP27) is a processed pseudogene in the human genome, designated as a non-functional, non-protein-coding copy derived from the functional RPL13A gene, which encodes a structural component of the large 60S ribosomal subunit[1][2][8]. Like other pseudogenes, RPL13AP27 does not encode a functional protein and is not known to have any physiological roles, although pseudogenes in general can sometimes exert regulatory effects at the RNA level[5]. It is annotated at the genomic level and has no direct relevance as a drug target, biomarker, or disease gene on its own.

Biological functions

Other (Pseudogenes are generally non-functional in the classic gene sense, but some may regulate related protein-coding genes via non-coding RNA mechanisms)
03

Disease associations

Other (No direct disease association for this specific pseudogene; however, pseudogenes can sometimes regulate genes involved in cancer or other diseases by acting as competing endogenous RNAs in rare cases)
