Target intelligence / Profile preview
Ribosomal protein L15 pseudogenes are non-coding genomic sequences that share sequence similarity with the protein-coding ribosomal protein L15 gene (RPL15). These pseudogenes arose via gene duplication or retrotransposition events and generally do not produce functional proteins. Human genomes contain many such pseudogenes for ribosomal protein genes, including several specific to ribosomal protein L15 (e.g., RPL15P1, RPL15P8, etc.)[3][4][6]. They are not functional components of the ribosome, are not therapeutic targets, and lack defined biological functions.
