Target intelligence / Profile preview
Ribosomal protein L15 pseudogene 2 (RPL15P2) is a processed pseudogene related to the ribosomal protein L15 gene. Pseudogenes are segments of DNA that resemble functional genes but typically do not encode functional proteins due to accumulated mutations or lack of necessary regulatory elements. RPL15P2 is not known to have any functional role in the cell or in disease. Its parent gene, ribosomal protein L15 (RPL15), is a component of the 60S ribosomal subunit involved in protein synthesis, but RPL15P2 does not encode a protein product and has no direct therapeutic or biomarker relevance.
