Ribosomal protein L15 pseudogene 3 (RPL15P3) is a human pseudogene related in sequence to the functional RPL15 gene, which codes for a structural component of the 60S ribosomal subunit. As a pseudogene, RPL15P3 does not encode a functional protein. Pseudogenes are typically non-functional copies of genes that may arise from gene duplication or retrotransposition and generally do not have biological activity or therapeutic relevance. RPL15P3 is annotated as a pseudogene in GeneCards, with no evidence for functional protein coding, therapeutic relevance, or disease association.
