Overview

Ribosomal protein L15 pseudogene 4 (RPL15P4) is a processed pseudogene found in the human genome and named for its sequence similarity to the ribosomal protein L15 gene (RPL15). Like most processed pseudogenes, RPL15P4 does not encode a protein and is not known to be expressed or produce a functional product. The functional gene RPL15 encodes a cytoplasmic ribosomal protein that is a component of the 60S ribosomal subunit, playing a role in normal protein synthesis, but RPL15P4 does not participate in these processes. There is no evidence that RPL15P4 acts as a receptor, enzyme, transporter, or any other druggable target[1][2][3].
