Target intelligence / Profile preview
Ribosomal protein L15 pseudogene 7 (RPL15P7) is a human pseudogene related to the functional ribosomal protein L15 gene (RPL15)[5]. Unlike its parent gene, RPL15P7 does not encode a functional protein and is instead categorized as a non-coding, processed pseudogene. Pseudogenes like RPL15P7 generally arise through duplication or retrotransposition events, and while they may share significant sequence similarity with their coding counterparts, they typically do not produce biologically active products. There is no evidence that RPL15P7 has a direct biological function, disease involvement, or therapeutic relevance[5]. Thus, it is not considered a therapeutic target.
