RPL17P19 (Ribosomal protein L17 pseudogene 19) is a processed pseudogene in humans, annotated as derived from the RPL17 gene family, located on chromosome 11, and also referred to as RPL17_11_483[8]. Pseudogenes are genomic DNA sequences similar to normal genes but non-functional due to mutations or deletions that prevent protein coding. RPL17P19 does not encode a protein and does not have a recognized biological function, association with disease pathology, or relevance as a drug target. It is one of numerous RPL17-related pseudogenes in the human genome[9]. Standard biological, pharmacological, and clinical databases do not cite any drugs, disease roles, or functional biomarkers for RPL17P19. Key clarification: There is no evidence that RPL17P19 is a receptor, enzyme, transporter, transcription factor, or true therapeutic target. It is a non-coding pseudogene and does not contribute to ribosomal protein L17 function, protein synthesis, or pathology. Any citation of RPL17P19 as a drug target or as having biological activity is incorrect[8][9].
