Ribosomal protein L17 pseudogene 25 (RPL17P25)

Ribosomal protein L17 pseudogene 25 (RPL17P25) is a processed pseudogene of the ribosomal protein L17 gene (RPL17) found in the human genome[5][13][17]. Pseudogenes like RPL17P25 are DNA sequences similar to protein-coding genes, but are generally considered non-functional due to mutations preventing them from producing active proteins[4][12]. RPL17 encodes a structural component of the large 60S ribosomal subunit, but RPL17P25 itself is not translated into a functional protein and has no known biological, clinical, or therapeutic relevance. There is no established role for this pseudogene in disease or drug interaction.
