Ribosomal protein L18 pseudogene 10 (RPL18P10) is a processed pseudogene in the human genome, derived from the parent gene RPL18 that encodes the ribosomal protein L18, a component of the 60S large ribosomal subunit. Unlike functional protein-coding genes, RPL18P10 does not encode a protein product and is classified among the "processed pseudogenes," which are abundant in the genome as remnants of RNA retrotransposition events. RPL18P10 does not have known functions, does not participate in cellular or disease pathways, and is not considered a target for drug action or a biomarker[5][6][7].
