Ribosomal protein L19 pseudogene 11 (RPL19P11) is a processed pseudogene found in the human genome[4][9]. Unlike protein-coding genes, processed pseudogenes, such as RPL19P11, arise from retrotransposition events and are typically non-functional—they do not encode proteins or functional RNA in normal physiology[1][6]. RPL19P11 shares sequence similarity to the RPL19 gene, which encodes a structural component of the 60S large ribosomal subunit, but RPL19P11 is not involved in ribosome assembly or protein synthesis[1][9]. There is no evidence that this pseudogene is a therapeutic target or that it has direct clinical significance[4][9].
