Ribosomal protein L19 pseudogene 13 (RPL19P13) is a processed pseudogene found in the human genome[1][3][5][9]. It is non-protein-coding and does not produce a functional ribosomal protein. It arises from duplication and integration events involving the RPL19 gene, whose protein product is a structural component of the cytoplasmic 60S ribosomal subunit, important for protein synthesis[5][7][10]. RPL19P13 itself is not expressed as a protein and is considered genomically inactive, serving no known physiological or pathological function. It is one of many pseudogenes related to ribosomal proteins[5]. Pseudogenes are typically not considered classical therapeutic targets, biomarkers, or disease drivers.
