Target intelligence / Profile preview
Ribosomal protein L19 pseudogene 18 (RPL19P18) is a non-coding, processed pseudogene corresponding to the functional ribosomal protein L19 gene (RPL19), which encodes a component of the large 60S ribosomal subunit[1][2][6][10]. As a pseudogene, RPL19P18 does not encode a functional protein and is not known to have a direct biological function, cellular role, or disease association. It is one of many processed pseudogenes derived from the parent RPL19 gene, scattered throughout the genome as evolutionary byproducts of retrotransposition events. Such pseudogenes are typically not transcribed or translated and do not serve as therapeutic targets nor biomarkers[1][2][10][11].
