Target intelligence / Profile preview
Ribosomal protein L19 pseudogene 21 (RPL19P21) is a processed pseudogene in the human genome that shares sequence similarity with the gene encoding ribosomal protein L19 but does not code for a functional protein. Like other processed pseudogenes of ribosomal protein genes, RPL19P21 is a non-coding remnant and is typically not transcribed or translated. Such pseudogenes are distributed throughout the human genome and result from retrotransposition events; they do not possess a biological function or role in disease and are not therapeutic targets[2][4][11][15].
