Overview

RPL21P104, or ribosomal protein L21 pseudogene 104, is a human genetic pseudogene corresponding to the ribosomal protein L21 but is not transcribed into a functional protein product[4][6]. Unlike its parent gene RPL21, which encodes a component of the 60S ribosomal subunit involved in protein synthesis[1][2], RPL21P104 is classified as a processed pseudogene, meaning it does not have therapeutic, biochemical, or disease-linked roles, nor does it encode a protein that could serve as a receptor, enzyme, or transporter[6]. It is not a valid drug target and is not relevant for biomarker or pharmacological considerations.
