Target intelligence / Profile preview
RPL21P37 (ribosomal protein L21 pseudogene 37) is a processed pseudogene related to the ribosomal protein L21 gene. Pseudogenes are genomic DNA sequences similar to normal genes but are typically non-functional; they do not encode proteins. The human genome contains many processed pseudogenes for ribosomal proteins, including L21. These exist as remnants of gene duplication or retrotransposition events and do not contribute to ribosomal function, have no direct biological activity, and are not considered therapeutic targets[2][1][3].
