Target intelligence / Profile preview
Ribosomal protein L21 pseudogene 56 (RPL21P56) is a processed pseudogene of the functional ribosomal protein L21 gene (RPL21). Pseudogenes like RPL21P56 are genomic DNA sequences similar to normal genes but, due to mutations or incomplete sequences, they do not encode functional proteins. RPL21P56 is not expressed as a protein and has no known biological or clinical function. The existence of multiple pseudogenes is a common feature for many ribosomal protein genes in the human genome[2][4][1].
None (no mechanism of action, since it is not a functional gene product)
