Ribosomal protein L21 pseudogene 75 (RPL21P75) is a processed pseudogene derived from the functional ribosomal protein L21 (RPL21) gene, which encodes a structural component of the large 60S ribosomal subunit in eukaryotes[3][5][7]. Unlike its parent gene, RPL21P75 does not produce a functional protein and has no known biological function, clinical role, or relevance as a therapeutic target[3]. Pseudogenes such as RPL21P75 result from gene duplication or retrotransposition events but accumulate mutations that render them nonfunctional as protein-coding genes[3][5]. RPL21P75 has no reported role in human disease, and there are no known drugs or biomarkers associated with it.
