Ribosomal protein L21 pseudogene 78 (RPL21P78) is a processed pseudogene derived from the functional ribosomal protein L21 gene (RPL21). Like other ribosomal protein pseudogenes, RPL21P78 does not encode a functional protein and is not involved in protein synthesis or known biological pathways. These pseudogenes are generated through retrotransposition events and are dispersed throughout the human genome. RPL21P78 itself is not known to play a functional role in disease, serve as a drug target, or be used as a biomarker. It is not a protein-coding gene, and pseudogenes are generally not considered therapeutic targets nor do they have known biological function, drug interactions, or roles in disease.
