Ribosomal protein L22 pseudogene 14 (RPL22P14) is a human processed pseudogene related to the ribosomal protein L22 gene family. Like other pseudogenes, RPL22P14 does not encode a functional protein and is not transcribed into a protein product involved in cellular processes. Pseudogenes such as RPL22P14 arise from duplication or retrotransposition events and are typically non-functional genetic elements; some can have regulatory roles, but there is currently no evidence that RPL22P14 plays a significant regulatory or biological role. It is not considered a therapeutic target, biomarker, or associated with disease phenotypes, and there are no known drugs or safety concerns linked to this pseudogene[2][3][9].
