Ribosomal protein L22 pseudogene 2 (RPL22P2) is a processed pseudogene related to the ribosomal protein L22 gene (RPL22). It is classified as a non-functional genetic locus that arose through duplication or retrotransposition events during evolution and does not encode a functional protein. Like other ribosomal protein pseudogenes, RPL22P2 shares sequence similarity with its parent gene but typically contains mutations and disruptions in coding sequence that preclude normal expression. It is not considered a therapeutic target, is not associated with biological function, and is not involved in human disease or drug targeting[1][2][3][5].
