Ribosomal protein L23 pseudogene 10 (RPL23P10) is a processed pseudogene of the ribosomal protein L23 (RPL23) gene family. It does not encode a functional protein and is not a therapeutic target, receptor, enzyme, transporter, or signaling molecule. The functional RPL23 gene encodes a component of the 60S ribosomal subunit (uL14 family), but RPL23P10 is one of over 100 processed pseudogenes derived from RPL23[3][4]. Pseudogenes like RPL23P10 result from reverse transcription events and are generally regarded as non-functional genomic elements without direct biological roles. There is no evidence that RPL23P10 is involved in any specific biological function, disease process, or drug interaction, and it should not be considered a molecular target[1][4]. In sum, RPL23P10 is a genomic pseudogene lacking coding potential and direct physiological or therapeutic relevance.
