Ribosomal protein L23 pseudogene 6 (RPL23P6) is a processed pseudogene of the human ribosomal protein L23 gene. Pseudogenes are non-functional genomic DNA sequences similar to normal genes but typically lack the ability to encode proteins due to mutations or absence of regulatory elements. RPL23P6 does not have any reported function, therapeutic relevance, or established interactions. Its parent gene, RPL23, encodes a structural component of the large 60S ribosomal subunit involved in protein synthesis[5][1][4]. RPL23P6 is not believed to play a direct role in disease, nor is it targeted by any approved drugs.
