RPL23P7 (ribosomal protein L23 pseudogene 7) is a processed pseudogene in the human genome, annotated as ENSG00000232383 on Ensembl, and is derived from the ribosomal protein L23 (RPL23) gene. Unlike the parent gene, which encodes a structural protein of the large ribosomal subunit (60S), RPL23P7 does not encode a functional protein and is classified among non-coding pseudogenes[1][16][22]. There are many pseudogenes related to ribosomal proteins in the human genome, but most—including RPL23P7—lack known biological function or disease association. Some ribosomal protein pseudogenes have been explored for possible regulatory roles or involvement in cancer biology, yet there is no established evidence that RPL23P7 itself acts as a disease driver, drug target, receptor, enzyme, or other pharmaceutical target[6][19][22]. For therapeutic or drug target purposes, RPL23P7 is not considered actionable, nor is it involved in drug interactions, mechanisms of action, or safety considerations.
