RPL23P7 (ribosomal protein L23 pseudogene 7) is a processed pseudogene in the human genome, annotated as ENSG00000232383 on Ensembl, and is derived from the ribosomal protein L23 (RPL23) gene. Unlike the parent gene, which encodes a structural protein of the large ribosomal subunit (60S), RPL23P7 does not encode a functional protein and is classified among non-coding pseudogenes[1][16][22]. There are many pseudogenes related to ribosomal proteins in the human genome, but most—including RPL23P7—lack known biological function or disease association.
