Ribosomal protein L23a pseudogene 27 (RPL23AP27) is a processed pseudogene in the human genome. Pseudogenes are genomic DNA sequences similar to normal genes but are non-functional; they are often products of gene duplication or retrotransposition. RPL23AP27 shares sequence similarity with the functional ribosomal protein L23a gene (RPL23A) but does not produce a functional protein.
