Ribosomal protein L24 pseudogene 2 (RPL24P2) is a processed pseudogene of the ribosomal protein L24 gene, meaning it is a non-functional genetic element in the human genome derived from the parent ribosomal protein gene RPL24. As with many ribosomal protein pseudogenes, RPL24P2 does not encode an active protein and is not known to be transcribed or translated in a manner that impacts protein synthesis or cellular function. Instead, RPL24P2 represents a remnant of genome evolution, often used in research to understand gene duplication, pseudogene formation, and genomic organization.
