Pseudogenes like RPL24P8 do not produce functional proteins and are generally considered transcriptionally inactive remnants of retrotransposition or gene duplication events that no longer serve an active biological role[4][6]. RPL24P8 is annotated in public gene databases, such as GeneCards and NCBI, as a non-coding entity without known physiological function, disease relevance, or clinical utility[3][4][9]. Put simply, RPL24P8 should not be considered a protein target, drug target, receptor, enzyme, transporter, or regulator of any biological pathway[4][9][5]. It is best categorized solely as a non-functional genetic element (pseudogene) with no known clinical or therapeutic significance.
