Target intelligence / Profile preview
Ribosomal protein L26 pseudogene 26 (RPL26P26) is a processed pseudogene in the human genome located on chromosome 8. It is a non-functional DNA sequence derived from the ribosomal protein L26 (RPL26) gene. Unlike the functional RPL26 gene, RPL26P26 does not produce an active ribosomal protein and is not involved in ribosome structure or function. No evidence supports any role for RPL26P26 in human disease, drug action, or as a biomarker. Its nomenclature and aliases are consistent with standard gene naming conventions for human pseudogenes[7][11][14][13].
