Target intelligence / Profile preview
Ribosomal protein L28 pseudogene 1 (RPL28P1) is a processed pseudogene related to the ribosomal protein L28 gene. Pseudogenes are DNA sequences similar to known genes but are typically nonfunctional due to disabling mutations or truncations, and do not encode functional proteins. RPL28P1 does not produce a functional protein and thus is not considered a therapeutic drug target, nor is it implicated in disease biology or known to interact with any drugs. Its nomenclature and properties are distinct from the functional ribosomal protein L28 gene (RPL28), and no biological, pathological, or pharmacological functions are assigned to RPL28P1.
