Ribosomal protein L29 pseudogene 25 (RPL29P25) is a processed pseudogene in the human genome. It does not code for a functional protein. This pseudogene is one of several genomic loci that share high sequence similarity with the functional ribosomal protein L29 (RPL29) gene, which encodes a component of the large (60S) ribosomal subunit responsible for protein synthesis. Like other processed pseudogenes, RPL29P25 likely arose from retrotransposition and is regarded as non-functional, having no documented biological function, disease association, molecular action, or role as a therapeutic target[1][2][5]. This entry is not a protein, receptor, enzyme, or druggable molecular target. It is a genetically inactive pseudogene, included as genomic background but not relevant for pharmacological or therapeutic applications[1][2][5]. The functional version is "Ribosomal protein L29" (RPL29), a ribosomal structural protein, but RPL29P25 itself does not produce protein or exert biological effects[1][5].
