Overview

Ribosomal protein L29 pseudogene 29 is a processed pseudogene derived from the ribosomal protein L29 gene (RPL29). Pseudogenes are DNA sequences that resemble functional genes but are generally non-functional due to mutations, truncations, or lack of regulatory elements, and do not produce a functional protein. RPL29P29 does not encode any protein and has no recognized biological function or disease association. Multiple ribosomal protein pseudogenes exist throughout the human genome as remnants of retrotransposition events and are not considered valid pharmacological or diagnostic targets.
