Ribosomal protein L30 pseudogene 1 is a *processed pseudogene* derived from the functional *RPL30* gene, which encodes a protein component of the large 60S ribosomal subunit[5][7]. Unlike its parent gene, RPL30P1 does not encode a protein and is generally considered nonfunctional in terms of cellular protein synthesis. Pseudogenes like RPL30P1 are prevalent across the genome, resulting from gene duplication and subsequent loss of coding potential. While the parent RPL30 gene is involved in ribosome structure and function, pseudogenes are typically not therapeutic targets, lack direct biological roles, and do not interact with drugs[5][7].
