Ribosomal protein L30 pseudogene 10 (RPL30P10) is classified as a processed pseudogene arising from the ribosomal protein L30 gene family[1][2][7]. Pseudogenes like RPL30P10 are non-functional copies of protein-coding genes, typically formed via retrotransposition. Unlike their parent genes, pseudogenes generally do not encode functional proteins. The human genome harbors hundreds of processed ribosomal protein (RP) pseudogenes, most of which are not transcribed or translated[7]. RPL30P10 does not encode an active ribosomal protein nor serve a recognized role in cellular or disease processes. It is not a member of any protein family relevant to receptors, enzymes, transporters, ion channels, or transcription factors, but is part of the broader "pseudogene" molecular classification. No known drugs, diseases, or biological functions are associated with this pseudogene[1][2][7].
