Ribosomal protein L30 pseudogene 7 (RPL30P7) is a processed pseudogene found in the human genome, sharing high sequence homology to the functional ribosomal protein L30 gene (RPL30), which codes for a component of the large (60S) ribosomal subunit[5][6]. Unlike the parent RPL30 gene, RPL30P7 does not produce a functional protein and is not known to exert biological function, act as a disease mechanism, or serve as a therapeutic or diagnostic target. Pseudogenes like RPL30P7 are thought to be evolutionary relics, typically non-functional due to mutations or truncations, though a few pseudogenes in the genome have been found to exhibit regulatory activity—no such role is reported for RPL30P7[5][6].
