Processed pseudogenes like RPL31P15 usually do not have known biological functions, disease roles, or interacting drugs[8]. The naming and context suggest this is not a true therapeutic target; its inclusion among targets is incorrect, and it should not be confused with RPL31, the protein-coding gene. There are many RPL31-related pseudogenes dispersed throughout the genome[3][5][6]. This pseudogene does not encode a protein and is not relevant to drug targeting, making it not a therapeutic or functional target. Any data suggesting otherwise likely confuses the pseudogene with the functional ribosomal protein L31 gene.
