Target intelligence / Profile preview
Ribosomal protein L31 pseudogene 16 (RPL31P16) is a processed pseudogene derived from RPL31, the gene encoding the 60S ribosomal protein L31, a structural component of the large ribosomal subunit. RPL31P16 does not produce a functional protein and has no known biological, pathological, or pharmacological activity. Pseudogenes such as RPL31P16 are remnants of genomic evolution that result from duplication or retrotransposition of their parent genes; they are generally considered nonfunctional and not therapeutic targets.
