Target intelligence / Profile preview
Ribosomal protein L31 pseudogene 2 (RPL31P2) is a processed pseudogene in the human genome related to the RPL31 gene, which encodes a structural component of the 60S ribosomal subunit. Pseudogenes like RPL31P2 arise by retrotransposition and do not produce functional proteins; while the parent RPL31 gene is involved in protein synthesis and cell growth, RPL31P2 does not serve any known biological function, is not a therapeutic target, and is classified as a noncoding pseudogene[7][5].
