Target intelligence / Profile preview
Ribosomal protein L31 pseudogene 61 (RPL31P61) is one of many processed pseudogenes in the human genome that are derived from the RPL31 gene, which encodes a component of the large 60S ribosomal subunit[7][3][5]. Pseudogenes such as RPL31P61 do not produce functional proteins and are not involved in canonical biological pathways or considered for therapeutic targeting. The functional RPL31 gene is a structural constituent of the ribosome, but RPL31P61 itself does not encode protein or participate in protein synthesis[7][2][5]. Thus, it should not be treated as an active drug target.
