Ribosomal protein L32 pseudogene 13 (RPL32P13) is a processed pseudogene derived from the parental ribosomal protein L32 gene (RPL32) in the human genome. Pseudogenes are typically non-coding DNA sequences that resemble protein-coding genes but contain mutations or deletions preventing them from producing functional proteins. Like many ribosomal protein pseudogenes, RPL32P13 does not produce a protein and generally does not have a direct biological function. However, some ribosomal protein pseudogenes have been identified as regulators of gene expression at the transcript level, and a few have been implicated in modulating biological processes or disease states, primarily through non-coding RNA functions.
