Ribosomal protein L32 pseudogene 25 is a non-coding pseudogene of RPL32, found in the human genome[4][7]. Unlike its parent gene, which encodes a component of the 60S ribosomal subunit and is anchored in protein synthesis, RPL32P25 does not encode any functional protein, nor is there evidence for its transcription or translation[4][7][8]. Pseudogenes such as RPL32P25 generally arise due to gene duplication or retrotransposition, resulting in a genomic sequence that resembles the original gene yet is rendered nonfunctional by disruptive mutations, lack of regulatory elements, or absence of an open reading frame[6]. While some ribosomal protein pseudogenes have been reported to regulate gene expression in cancer or other cellular processes, there is no specific evidence or literature supporting any functional role, disease association, or drug interaction for RPL32P25 itself[2][4][8]. Therefore, RPL32P25 should not be considered a bona fide therapeutic target nor a candidate for drug development.
