Ribosomal protein L32 pseudogene 29 (RPL32P29) is a human processed pseudogene—an inactive genomic DNA sequence that is similar to the functional ribosomal protein L32 gene but does not encode a functional protein. Pseudogenes such as RPL32P29 arise through retrotransposition or genomic duplication of the parent gene but typically lack regulatory elements, introns, or may have mutations that prevent protein expression. RPL32P29 is listed as a non-functional pseudogene in genomic and nomenclature databases and is not recognized as a therapeutic target, receptor, enzyme, or biomarker. There is no evidence of its involvement in disease biology, drug interactions, or clinical relevance. The canonical functional gene, RPL32, encodes a protein that is a component of the large 60S ribosomal subunit, but this pseudogene does not contribute to that activity.
