Ribosomal protein L32 pseudogene 31 (RPL32P31) is a non-coding DNA sequence in the human genome, identified as a processed pseudogene closely related to the functional ribosomal protein L32 (RPL32) gene. While processed pseudogenes like RPL32P31 are the remnants of functional genes and can serve as evolutionary markers, they do not code for proteins and are not known to have direct biological or therapeutic function. Some pseudogenes, such as related family members (e.g., RPL32P3), have experimental evidence for limited regulatory roles in cancer cell lines, but RPL32P31 specifically is not known to be biologically or clinically relevant.
