Overview

Ribosomal protein L32 pseudogene 6 (RPL32P6) is a human processed pseudogene derived from the ribosomal protein L32 (RPL32) gene. While RPL32 is an essential structural protein of the 60S ribosomal subunit responsible for protein synthesis in cells[4][7], RPL32P6 itself does not encode a protein and is classed as a pseudogene[2][5]. Pseudogenes are often remnants from gene duplication events, and most do not contribute to coding capacity or biological activity, although research on other pseudogenes has shown occasional regulatory roles[8]. At present, RPL32P6 is not considered functionally relevant or a therapeutic target in biomedical science[2][5][9].
