Ribosomal protein L34 pseudogene 17 (RPL34P17) is a processed pseudogene related to the ribosomal protein L34 gene (RPL34). While RPL34 encodes an essential component of the ribosome and is implicated in protein synthesis and various diseases when overexpressed, RPL34P17 does not produce a functional protein.
