Ribosomal protein L34 pseudogene 3 (RPL34P3) is classified as a pseudogene in the human genome and is not believed to encode a functional protein product[3][6]. It is derived from the parent gene RPL34, which encodes a structural component of the 60S large ribosomal subunit involved in protein synthesis, but RPL34P3 itself does not have coding capability and has no known functional role in ribosome function or disease processes[3][1][4]. There are numerous similar processed pseudogenes for ribosomal protein genes throughout the human genome, thought to originate from retrotransposition events[4]. RPL34P3 is catalogued for genomic and evolutionary studies and has no known interaction with drugs, biomarker value, or disease relevance[3][6].
