Overview

Ribosomal protein L35 pseudogene 10 (RPL35P10) is a processed pseudogene found on human chromosome 19. It does not encode a functional protein and is one of many dispersed pseudogenes that arose from the parent ribosomal protein L35 gene. Pseudogenes like RPL35P10 are generally regarded as noncoding genomic relics, though recent research indicates some pseudogenes may have regulatory roles in gene expression and disease, primarily by acting as competing endogenous RNAs or sources of regulatory RNA. However, there is no published evidence for a specific biological, biomarker, or disease role for RPL35P10. It is not a receptor, enzyme, transporter, transcription factor, or any canonical drug target class.

Biological functions

Other (Pseudogenes classically were thought to have no biological function, but emerging evidence suggests some may regulate their parental protein-coding gene through RNA-mediated mechanisms; specific function for RPL35P10 is not reported)
03

Disease associations

Other (No specific disease association for RPL35P10 is reported; ribosomal protein pseudogenes in general sometimes have regulatory roles in cancer, but not specifically RPL35P10)
